Shobha Vijay Joshi is the name of the inspiration, giving a new identity to Almora after being honoured with the Iconic Women International Award 2021 for her recognition among 50 strong women of the country.
Shobha's journey began after the sudden death of her husband, winning the election for the post of Municipality Chairman in 2007 with strong votes. SHe took care of her social duties as well as her family's responsibilities with full devotion.She has  two small children to take care all by herself with other duties in life. 
 During the tenure between 2007 and 2013, she brought Almora into a progressive city chain with the renovation of Patal Bazar along with 4 storey parking. She introduced first time "shav vahan"for public welfare  , sewer line connectivity and  construction of a park in the city Almora.

The obsession of giving a new identity to her city took Shobha to the hot seat of 2011. For the first time, the name of such a small town of Almora became enlightened on the screen of National TV in the voice of Amitabh ji. What Shobha won in materiality was not a question, but she has been able to win the hearts of the masses due to her good intentions , karma and visual determination.A strong determined lady moved without fear where that hardly anyone could  snatch  her dignity from her.
Shobha is not identified with the post of Municipality President in Almora, but her social work Which gave her  a special place in the heart of the people. Shobha's name went on to become a name that brings a smile to the faces of the needy, helpless, rejected people of the society. Her work was awarded to with the titles of Great India Award 2015 , Social Responsibility Award 2016, Excellence Award 2017 . Shobha is an inspiration for many women who lose the identity of their existence, while confronting the struggles of their personal life over their lives. Shobha took her life to face a number of struggles and challenges, which is a beacon for others, in which she sees the spirit of Vasudev Kutumbakam in the light.
